Hermitage FM

Hermitage FM was a not-for-profit, volunteer-led community radio station based in Coalville, North West Leicestershire. It served the local area, including towns such as Ashby-de-la-Zouch and Ibstock, with a blend of familiar music, local news, travel updates, and community-focused conversations. The station's mission was to inform, connect, and entertain residents, offering a friendly companion that spotlighted neighbourhood groups, charities, and local events. Listeners could previously listen live on 99.2 FM across the Coalville district.

The station's programming mirrored local life, featuring shows that invited guests into the studio and highlighted dates on the community calendar. Specialist evening and weekend programs provided airtime to various music genres and local voices. Hermitage FM encouraged listener participation through dedication hours and regularly promoted local fundraising and community projects. Although the station has ceased broadcasting, it was previously possible to stream online via its official website and other radio directories.

Run by volunteers for almost 17 years, Hermitage FM was a project of Carillon Broadcasting Ltd, founded by Jon and Jan Sketchley. It provided a vital local service until its closure at the end of March 2024. The station also operated a Community Coffee Lounge in Coalville's Memorial Square. While its live streaming service is no longer available, the station's legacy remains as a former destination for those in North West Leicestershire to listen radio online and engage with their community.
