Absinth3: The Industrial Metal Prodigy
Absinth3 is a German industrial metal project known for its aggressive fusion of electronic beats and distorted guitar riffs. The artist, originating from Berlin, achieved notable commercial success with the 2018 album Digital Ghost, which charted across several European territories.
Early career
Absinth3 was formed in 2010 by producer and multi-instrumentalist Leo Brandt. Brandt, a veteran of Berlin's underground club scene, began experimenting with blending heavy guitar samples and glitchy synth programming in a small home studio. The project's first official release was the 2012 EP Circuit Breaker, which caught the attention of independent label Noisefield Records.
Breakthrough
The breakthrough arrived in 2018 with the sophomore album Digital Ghost, released via the larger imprint Sonic Titan Records. The album's lead single gained traction on alternative radio and streaming platforms, propelling the album to number 14 on the German album charts. Digital Ghost later received a gold certification in Germany for sales exceeding 200,000 units.
Key tracks
Rust & Code — This 2018 single defined the Absinth3 sound and became a staple on alternative rock radio.
Neon God — A collaboration with vocalist Zara K. that expanded the project's audience into the mainstream metal scene.
Blackout Protocol — Known for its intense rhythmic programming, this track is a highlight of the band's live performances.
Zero Signal — The opening track from Digital Ghost that perfectly encapsulates the album's thematic and sonic direction.
Following this success, Absinth3 embarked on extensive touring and notable collaborations. In 2021, the project worked with producer Greg K. on the track Asymmetric War for a video game soundtrack. Their third studio album, 2022's Catalyst, debuted at number 22 in Germany and featured a guest appearance from drummer Max Rainer.

Eisbrecher operates in a similar sonic space with its blend of electronics and heavy riffs. OOMPH! is another pioneer of the German industrial metal and Neue Deutsche Härte sound.
