Aces High: Arena Rock's Modern Champions

Aces High is a British rock band known for their anthemic sound and high-energy live performances. Formed in Manchester in 2010, the group achieved mainstream success with their 2016 platinum-certified album Kings of the New Dawn.

Early career

The band's founding members, vocalist Liam Vance and guitarist Saul Miller, began writing songs together in late 2009. After solidifying their lineup with bassist Holly Grant and drummer Raj Patel, Aces High self-released their debut EP, The Starting Gun, in 2012.

This independent release caught the attention of several labels, leading to a development deal with indie label Rockhaven Records in 2013. Their first full-length album, Cross the Line, arrived in 2014 but saw only moderate chart performance.

Breakthrough

The band's fortunes changed dramatically with their 2016 sophomore effort. Signing to major label Phoenix Global, Aces High released Kings of the New Dawn, which debuted at number 5 on the UK Albums Chart.

The album was propelled by heavy radio play and eventually reached platinum sales status in the UK. This success established them as a major force in the modern rock scene.

Key tracks

Light the Fuse — This lead single from their breakthrough album became a top 20 hit and a staple at rock festivals.

Kings of the New Dawn — The anthemic title track is a concert highlight, known for its crowd-chanting chorus.

Run Back to You — Featured in several major sporting event broadcasts, this track boosted their international profile.

Following their breakthrough, Aces High toured extensively across Europe and North America from 2017 to 2019. Their third studio album, Pressure & Time, was released in 2021 and debuted at number 3 on the UK chart.

They have collaborated with artists like The Darkness for a charity single and contributed a song to the Need for Speed: Heat video game soundtrack. The band continues to headline mid-sized arenas and is reportedly working on new material.
