Bootmasters: The Garage Rock Revivalists
Bootmasters are a British garage rock band known for their raw, energetic sound and chart-topping albums. Hailing from Manchester, the group achieved mainstream success with their 2018 debut album 'Grit & Neon', which reached number two on the UK Albums Chart and was certified gold.
Early career
Bootmasters formed in 2013 after members Liam Vance (vocals/guitar) and Sasha Cole (drums) met at a local music college. The duo, later joined by bassist Raj Patel, began playing gritty, high-energy shows in Manchester's underground pub circuit. Their self-released 2015 EP, 'Start the Engine', caught the attention of independent label Rough Tracks Records, which signed them the following year.
Breakthrough
The band's breakthrough arrived in 2018 with the release of their first full-length album, 'Grit & Neon'. The lead single, Rusted Chrome, became a staple on UK rock radio, propelling the album to its peak chart position. The album's success was solidified by a silver certification for the single and a gold certification for the album, marking Bootmasters' arrival on the national rock scene.
