Mount Kimbie is an English electronic music duo known for shaping the atmospheric and experimental sound of the late 2000s post-dubstep movement. Formed in London, the group's influential early EPs and critically acclaimed albums have established them as key figures in modern electronic music.

Early career

The duo, consisting of Kai Campos and Dominic Maker, formed in London around 2008. They emerged from the city's fertile electronic scene, initially self-releasing their minimalist and textured tracks which blended dubstep's spatial awareness with indie and ambient influences.

Breakthrough

Mount Kimbie's breakthrough arrived with their 2010 debut album, Crooks & Lovers, released on the influential Scuba's Hotflush Recordings.
