Nightwish is a Finnish symphonic metal band known for blending heavy metal instrumentation with orchestral arrangements and operatic vocals. Early Career

Nightwish was founded in 1996 by songwriter and keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen, guitarist Emppu Vuorinen, and original vocalist Tarja Turunen. Breakthrough

The band's international breakthrough came with their 2002 album, Century Child, and its 2004 follow-up, Once. Once, featuring the hit "Nemo," propelled Nightwish to new heights, topping the charts in several European countries and achieving multi-platinum status in their native Finland.
