Reflexy: The Electrifying Pulse of Modern Synthwave

Reflexy is a Swedish electronic music producer and DJ known for crafting immersive retro-futuristic soundscapes. Hailing from Stockholm, he achieved a significant commercial milestone with his 2021 album Neon Dreams, which charted across multiple European territories and secured a gold certification in his home country.

Early career

Formed as a solo project in 2015, Reflexy began by uploading original tracks and remixes to online music platforms. His early work, a blend of 80s-inspired synth melodies and modern production techniques, quickly garnered a dedicated following in the niche synthwave community.

This grassroots success led to his first official release in 2017, the EP Midnight Drive, on the independent label Retro Future Sounds. The EP established his signature style: driving basslines, arpeggiated synthesizers, and cinematic atmospheres.

Breakthrough

Reflexy's breakthrough arrived in 2019 with the single Velocity. The track became an unexpected viral hit on video-sharing platforms, amassing millions of streams and catching the attention of major labels.

He subsequently signed with ElektroDisk Records, which re-released Velocity and propelled it into the Top 40 charts in Sweden and Germany. This success paved the way for his debut full-length album and wider international recognition.

Key tracks

Velocity — This breakthrough single defined his sound for a global audience and became his first charting record.

Neon Dreams — The title track from his gold-certified album showcases his evolved production and knack for anthemic hooks.

Midnight Run — A fan-favorite from his early EP that remains a staple in his high-energy live DJ sets.

Echoes in the Grid (feat. LYRA) — This 2022 collaboration demonstrated his ability to blend ethereal vocals with his instrumental synthwave foundation.

Horizon Line — A deeper cut from his sophomore album noted for its complex, progressive structure and atmospheric depth.

Building on the momentum of Neon Dreams, Reflexy embarked on extensive touring, performing at major European electronic music festivals. His sophomore album, Digital Dawn, released in 2023, explored darker, more industrial textures while maintaining his core melodic sensibility.

He has since collaborated with artists like French producer VHS Dreams and contributed to official soundtracks for indie video games, further solidifying his position within the modern synthwave and retro-electronica scene.

For fans of Reflexy's brand of cinematic electronics, other leading artists in the scene include The Midnight, who similarly merge 80s saxophone and synth pop with contemporary production. Timecop1983 offers a more dreamy and nostalgic take on the genre. From the same Swedish scene, Kavinsky is a pioneer of the harder-edged, narrative-driven side of retro wave. Gunship expands the formula with prominent rock vocals and an even more cinematic scope.

Reflexy's music is a frequent feature on dedicated synthwave and retro electronic radio stations, as well as on broader alternative electronic music streams.
