Wisin: The Reggaeton Powerhouse

Juan Luis Morera Luna, known globally as Wisin, is a Puerto Rican singer, songwriter, and record executive who helped define the modern reggaeton genre. From his base in Puerto Rico, he achieved monumental success both as one half of the legendary duo Wisin & Yandel and as a formidable solo artist, selling millions of albums worldwide and earning numerous platinum certifications.

Early career

Born in 1978 in Cayey, Puerto Rico, Wisin began his musical journey in the late 1990s during reggaeton's underground era. He first gained attention through performances on compilation albums and mixtapes, which led to a pivotal meeting with fellow artist Yandel.

Their chemistry was immediate, and they officially formed the duo Wisin & Yandel in the late 1990s. Breakthrough

The duo's commercial breakthrough arrived in 2004 with their album Pa'l Mundo, released under WY Records in partnership with Machete Music.
