Zoom

Zoom: The Architect of Modern Synthwave
Zoom is the electronic music project of Los Angeles-based producer and multi-instrumentalist Zachary "Zoom" Moore. Emerging from the underground synthwave revival of the early 2010s, he has become a defining voice in the genre, known for his cinematic soundscapes and driving retro-futuristic beats. His 2018 album Neon Dusk charted on the Billboard Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart and solidified his reputation as a leading act in the modern electronic scene.
Early career
Zoom began his musical journey in 2009, experimenting with analog synthesizers and drum machines in his home studio. His early work circulated on niche online forums and platforms like Bandcamp, where he self-released a series of well-received EPs, including 2012's Midnight Drive. This DIY phase caught the attention of the independent label Neon Nights Records, which signed him in 2014 to release his debut full-length, Circuit Dreams.
Breakthrough
The artist's major breakthrough arrived in 2018 with his sophomore album, Neon Dusk. Released via the larger electronic-focused imprint Astralwerks, the album debuted at number 12 on the Billboard Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart. Fueled by its lead single and a visually striking music video, the album was certified gold in Canada and spawned a successful headlining North American tour.

The album peaked at number 8 on the Dance/Electronic chart and included a notable collaboration with guitarist Tim Milner on the track Static Pulse.
