Early Career

Breakthrough

The Breeders' breakthrough arrived in 1993 with their second album, "Last Splash," released on the label 4AD. This album featured a new, solidified lineup including Kim Deal's twin sister Kelley Deal on guitar.

The lead single, "Cannonball," became a defining anthem of the 1990s alternative movement, propelling the album to platinum sales status and a peak position of number 33 on the Billboard 200 chart.
