The Real Socialist Agenda, Fauci's Bad Week, Mandani Doxxes the 'Rich' | Last Call

Welcome to Last Call, a look at the biggest stories Jim and Greg covered over the past week on the 3 Martini Lunch.

This week they discuss the insane Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) agenda, Dr. Anthony Fauci invoking the Fifth Amendment to avoid questions about his handling of the Covid pandemic, NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani publishing the names and addresses of "rich" people he plans to tax, and the trans community getting furious over donuts.

First, they applaud Shannon Bream of the Fox News Channel for getting DSA Co-Chair Megan Romer to admit the group really wants to abolish the U.S. Senate, radically change the presidency and the U.S. Supreme Court, abolish ICE, abolish borders, abolish prisons, and more. Jim and Greg point out that some of those are mainstream positions for Democrats and others are not far away. They also welcome polling that shows socialism deeply unpopular with independents.

Next, they discuss Dr. Fauci refusing to testify before Sen. Rand Paul and the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, now that he's not covered by President Biden's pardon. Jim explains why this is a really bad look for Fauci and shows how the left is trying to defend Fauci in some ways while distancing itself in others. Greg notes the stunning lack of mainstream media interest in the Fauci diaries.

Then, they fume over Mayor Mamdani's decision to release a database listing the names and addresses of everyone his administration sees as eligible for his new "pied-à-terre" tax aimed at owners of second homes above a certain value in the city. Jim explains how reckless this is and why aggressive pushback is needed now.

Finally, they shake their heads as the Tim Horton's chain takes heat from what's now being called the 2SLGBTQ+ community because Tim Horton's plans to create Harry Potter-themed treats next month.
