The King of Springsteen: Jesse Jackson

The King of Springsteen: Jesse Jackson

Author: Matthew Gray - 50TastesOfGray January 20, 2024 Duration: 58:48
Aloha Friends, Matthew Gray here. Thanks for tuning in to 50 Tastes Of Gray. Can you believe it? I scored another Big Name, Jesse Jackson, for this podcast!Jesse Jackson (not the guy who ran for President in 1984) has been a lifelong fan of comic books and all things geek. He tells a great story of one of his earliest memories with his Grandmother who managed a Post Exchange located in Fort Polk, Louisiana.  She would allow him to pick out all the comics he wanted to read and would then tear the cover off them so she could get credit for them.  The good news is he got many comics; the bad news is that he never got to have comics with a cover. After seeing Bruce Springsteen perform live for the first time in 2002, he has become a major Springsteen fan and has seen The Boss perform live 19 times (and counting).  Jesse loves podcasting and is the host of Set Lusting Bruce, everything you ever wanted to know about Bruce Springsteen.   I call Jesse "The King of Springsteen" and it's a well-deserved moniker. We covered lots of ground on this show, speaking of his upbringing in The South, the food of his childhood, his grandma, and his big-time crush when he was a young boy. Did Jesse "consummate" his desire with this young lady? Tune in to find out.   We had sort of a porch-style chat, but without the moonshine or sweet tea. Enjoy the show, friends. If you dig Springsteen, this'll be a great listen.   Feel free to reach me or listen to 50 Tastes Of Gray at https://LoveLife.com and also some video nuggets are available at https://YouTube.com/@50TastesOfGray

Aloha from Hawaii! I’m Matthew Gray, a lifelong chef and radio guy, and this is 50 Tastes Of Gray. Think of this podcast as a long, comfortable table where smart conversation is always on the menu. Each episode is built around a generous helping of stories and laughter, served with genuine warmth, a sharp wit, and just a dash of mischief. I sit down with fascinating people from all corners of the creative world-chefs, artists, musicians, thinkers, and anyone with a compelling story about how they live. Naturally, we talk about flavor and food, but the discussion always expands to explore what truly feeds the soul: curiosity, creativity, and the messy, beautiful connections that define our relationships and culture. You'll hear unexpected insights that blend the arts, comedy, and observations on society, all flowing from relaxed, in-depth chats. This isn't a lecture or an interview checklist; it's the kind of talk that happens when interesting people are given the space to dig into what matters, finding the humor and humanity in everything from a perfect meal to a life-changing idea. Tune in for a podcast that feels like a great dinner party-nourishing, unpredictable, and deeply human.
