S2 21 A Masterclass with Nambitha Ben-Mazwi

Author: Gino Shelile November 25, 2024 Duration: 21:29

Nambitha Ben-Mazwi is the first South African to notch up 6 international Netflix credits; a testament to her star quality. Nambitha has been working as an actress and broadcaster since 2007.
In this episode we get some insight into just what makes her such a successful performer as we join Lady Nam for her Showmax Masterclass.

Nambitha’s acting career began with a notable role as Unathi Mweli in the Mzansi Magic mystery drama Doubt. This role set the stage for her future successes in the South African entertainment industry.

In 2017, she gained significant recognition for her role as Lulama in the e.tv telenovela Broken Vows, which showcased her ability to portray complex characters. That same year, she appeared in the BET miniseries Madiba as Nandi, adding to her diverse acting portfolio.

Her international experience included a role as Tamara in the U.S. series Black Mirror, highlighting her adaptability and global appeal.

A career highlight was when Lady Nam featured in Beyonce's Black Is King musical film and visual album. She was handpicked for the big project, a clear indication that nothing is impossible.

Nambitha intends to use her career to enhance the lives of other women. As a result, she started She Speaks in 2018, which is a woman empowerment program that promotes self-love.

You can catch Lady Nam starring as Ndoni Themba in Showmax's Empini.
