#324 - Sick Of It

Dive deep into the sounds that defined a decade beyond the mainstream with Alternative 80s. Hosted by SurfingTrucker, this isn't a nostalgia trip through familiar pop hits; it's a curated journey into the shadows and side streets of the era's music scene. Each episode is built around the driving rhythms and atmospheric melodies of New Wave, the brooding intensity of Goth, the raw energy of Post-Punk, and the infectious bounce of Ska. SurfingTrucker has a keen ear for forgotten gems and obscure tracks, often weaving in rare cuts and hard-to-find recordings that even dedicated fans might have missed. Listening feels like rediscovering a favorite, dusty cassette mixtape, full of surprises and sonic textures that commercial radio often ignored. The passion for this specific slice of music history is palpable, making the podcast a reliable source for both longtime enthusiasts and newcomers curious about the decade's rich underground. You'll hear the stories behind the songs less traveled, all presented with a genuine appreciation for the artists and labels that operated outside the spotlight. It's a dedicated archive and a celebration of the 80s alternative spirit, one compelling playlist at a time.
