Enes Kanter’s WNBA Draft Shock | Arkansas Razorbacks Basketball News

Enes Kanter Freedom, the former NBA star turned activist who identifies as a woman, is set to shock the sports world by entering the 2027 WNBA draft — sparking firestorm debates, especially after his friend Bruce Pearl, the ex-Auburn coach, publicly rallied to defend women’s sports. Their upcoming interview promises explosive tension as Pearl confronts Freedom directly about his identity, echoing LeBron’s “The Decision” with a bold social media statement: if he declares himself a woman, the WNBA’s rules demand acceptance — and he’s asking who gets to judge his journey. Joining him in this audacious move is Royce White, another ex-NBA player also targeting the 2027 draft. The WNBA has responded firmly, affirming no immediate eligibility issues while condemning any attempts to weaponize these announcements against marginalized voices. This high-stakes conversation will reshape how we talk about gender, identity, and inclusion in professional basketball — and it’s just getting started.
