Winner of the 2025 SXSW Documentary Spotlight Audience Award, the film will be available for digital and on-demand viewing (Apple, Amazon, iTunes, Google, etc.) on November 25.Narrated by actor and Houston native Dennis Quaid, Luv Ya Bum! is set against the backdrop of a booming 1970s Houston, and chronicles how Bum Phillips transformed the reeling Houston Oilers into playoff contenders, sparking the beloved “Luv Ya Blue!” movement. Known for his trademark cowboy hat and folksy charisma, Phillips led with authenticity, loyalty, and a deep belief in his players, redefining leadership in professional sports and leaving a legacy that continues to resonate through NFL generations and beyond. Luv Ya Bum! features rare, archival footage and impactful interviews with football legends, including Earl Campbell, Dan Pastorini, Peyton Manning, Sean McVay, Terry Bradshaw, Jerry Jones, J.J. Watt, Von Miller, DeMarcus Ware, and Bum’s son and grandson, NFL coaches Wade and Wes Phillips.
