Set over the course of a single summer day, POOLS is a retelling of a classic coming-of-age story. The film balances dark humor with tension, using its contained setting to amplify character and mood rather than spectacle. The cast is led by Odessa A’zion (Marty Supreme) in a striking supporting role. The film is directed by Sam Hayes, who recently discussed POOLS during a live appearance on CBS Chicago this morning.
