Comet and Other Verses-Irving Sydney Dix

Gather the family as the air turns crisp and the leaves begin to change; Autumn Tales Stories and Legends of Fall Festivities is here to fill your home with the spirit of the season. Hosted by Ada M. Skinner and Eleanor L. Skinner, this audio experience transforms their beloved book into a warm, spoken-word journey. Each episode is a carefully curated mix, weaving together timeless stories, folklore, and poems that capture the unique magic of autumn, Halloween, and Thanksgiving. You’ll hear more than just familiar tales, as this podcast draws from a rich treasury of translated works, bringing charming animal adventures and thoughtful poetry from Danish, French, and German authors to a new audience. It’s designed to captivate young listeners, certainly, but there’s a gentle, nostalgic quality that adults will find equally transporting. The narratives are deeply connected to the natural world, inviting curiosity about its beauty and the little mysteries that seem to surface this time of year. Perfect for quiet afternoons, family car rides, or as a bedtime ritual, this podcast offers a consistent space for wonder. It feels less like a produced show and more like being read to from a cherished, well-worn anthology, where every story is a discovery and every legend feels like a secret being shared. Tune in and let the Skinners’ welcoming voices guide you through a landscape of pumpkins, harvest moons, and cozy gatherings.
