Harley’s Holiday & Lock-Up

Harley’s Holiday & Lock-Up

Author: The Pensky File December 17, 2020 Duration: 1:07:39

This week on The BATTASS Podcast, we’ve got one debut, and one more entry in our season-long trend of villains attempting to go straight, as Harley Quinn tries to navigate the pitfalls of trying to rejoin polite society, and a disgruntled cop thinks he can do Batman’s job better than Batman, in Harley’s Holiday and Lock-Up!

First up, in Harley’s Holiday, Harley Quinn is released back from the asylum after being proved sane, but after a mix-up at a clothes shop, the situation begins to snowball out of control. It’s a mad, mad, mad, mad day on the town, where Harley draws the ire of Batman, the organized mob, and even the military, as she gets into a ridiculous amount of trouble in less time than it takes to say “where are my pet hyenas?” It’s her first outing without the Joker, and she lives up to all the whacky mayhem of her previous appearances, while also making you feel something for her situation as well!

Next up in Lock-Up, Lyle Bolton is fired from Arkham because of his severe mistreatment of the inmates. Six months later, Bolton becomes Lock-Up, a vigilante targeting the people he feels are responsible for the city’s ruin. After what we can only assume is a very expensive trip to see Brandon Brandanowitz, the Brand Manager, Lyle reappears armed to the teeth with crazy, innovative tech that allows for a wide variety of anti-personnel management.

Join Sean and Clay as they get into the nitty gritty of the finer points of Harley shooting people in the face, bringing your hyena to the department store, and when it’s awesome to wear sweet chains. Grab your roller skates, max out your credit card, and join us in putting a boot on the wheels of these two episodes!

Ever wonder what happens when two working comic book artists sit down to talk about the definitive cartoon version of the Dark Knight? That’s the simple, compelling premise behind BATTASS: The Batman The Animated Series Show Podcast. Hosts Clay McCormack and Sean Murphy bring their insider’s perspective from the drawing board to every discussion, breaking down each installment of the legendary series. Their conversations are less like formal reviews and more like you’re overhearing a deep, passionate, and often very funny debate between two experts who genuinely love the material. You’ll hear them trace the artistic influences in the show’s iconic style, analyze the sharp writing that appealed to both kids and adults, and share personal insights into why certain characters or storylines resonate so powerfully within the broader world of comics. This isn’t a rushed recap; it’s a thoughtful, episode-by-episode excavation of what made Batman: The Animated Series a cultural touchstone. The result is a consistently engaging podcast that feels both educational and entertaining, offering a unique lens on a show many of us thought we already knew everything about. New episodes from The Pensky File dive into a single chapter of the animated saga, making it a perfect companion whether you’re revisiting the series or discovering it for the first time.
