546. Your Brain Is Lying to You About Goals

Have you ever thought to yourself, "Why bother setting goals if I'm just going to be disappointed when I don't hit them?"

 

Maybe you've decided that instead of chasing achievements, you should just love yourself as you are and be happy right where you're at. Or perhaps you've told yourself that so much is out of your control anyway, why set goals when you can't control the outcome? I get it. IBut here's the truth: Not having goals doesn't reduce the pain and discomfort in your life.

 

Listen in this week as I address the part of your brain that might be wondering whether you should even bother setting goals, especially if you've been disappointed in the past. While it's tempting to avoid the discomfort that comes with not hitting a goal, I explain why not having something you're focused on achieving will actually result in more pain and suffering, not less.
