TOR Sisters on Living God's Call (Ep. 8)

TOR Sisters on Living God's Call (Ep. 8)

Author: Damascus May 27, 2026 Duration: 56:24

The Franciscan Sisters TOR of Penance of the Sorrowful Mother exist to glorify God and make known His merciful love. They have a deep devotion to Mary at the foot of the cross, but as you’ll see here, their joy speaks a paradox to the world – namely, that the Gospel calls us to both repent and rejoice. In this episode, Sr. Agnes Maria and Sr. Philomena Clare share about how this twofold call plays out in their lives as sisters, and they encourage us to do the same.

The Damascus Podcast is the official podcast of Damascus, a Catholic missionary movement that invites as many young people and their families as possible into a life-changing encounter with Jesus and His Church. With a combination of long-form conversations, roundtable discussions, and lessons from 25 years of ministry, this podcast exists to bring the Damascus experience to everyday life – where an encounter with what Jesus is doing in this generation of the Church leads to the mission of bringing that encounter to the next generation of the Church.

Hosted by Dan, Brad, and Aaron from the Damascus Catholic Mission Campus, Beyond Damascus is a conversation built on a simple idea: that a genuine encounter with faith should naturally lead you out into the world. This isn't about abstract theory. Each episode focuses on the tangible, sometimes messy work of integrating belief into the ordinary rhythm of your days. You'll hear the hosts draw from their own experiences-the obstacles faced, the joys pursued, the lessons learned the hard way-to offer practical perspectives on what an abundant Christian life actually looks like from Monday to Sunday. The discussion always circles back to actionable steps, providing listeners with real substance to consider and apply. Tune in for weekly dialogues that are less about having all the answers and more about navigating the journey together, exploring how spirituality fuels a more intentional and meaningful daily existence. This podcast lives in the space where personal growth meets purposeful action.
