There's a rhythm to tennis that goes beyond the match scores and tournament brackets, a deeper conversation about the culture, personalities, and stories that shape the sport. Beyond The Baseline: SI's Tennis Podcast with Jon Wertheim lives in that space. Hosted by Sports Illustrated's esteemed journalist Jon Wertheim, this isn't just a recap of last week's winners; it's a thoughtful exploration of everything happening on and off the court. You'll hear Wertheim's seasoned analysis, born from decades covering the game, which cuts through the noise to explain why a particular strategy worked or what a surprising result really means for a player's season. The conversations here are the highlight, featuring a roster of incredible guests that includes top players, legendary coaches, insiders, and even figures from outside tennis who bring a fresh perspective. Each episode feels like a candid, behind-the-scenes discussion, offering listeners a sense of being in the room for talks they wouldn't hear anywhere else. For anyone who appreciates the nuance of a well-placed volley or the intrigue of a tour controversy, this podcast delivers a consistently engaging and intelligent take. It’s the kind of show that deepens your understanding of the game, making you feel like part of an informed conversation about the sport you love.
