Sam’s Birth Stories and How Having a Powerful Birth Doesn’t Necessarily Mean No Support

Author: Indie Birth Association June 28, 2022 Duration: 38:55

Sam is a prenatal yoga teacher, doula, and mother of two boys, presently residing on the Kentucky River. Sam’s birth taught her that, to truly be free, to know and to trust herself, is to know how to manage her energetic state and create the energy that she wanted within herself and project that out in to the world. The message she wishes to share with women is that having a powerful birth does not mean having no support. You can totally be in your power while still choosing to be supported by amazing women, who trust and have your back.

Sam is a doula who serves the central Kentucky region (Lexington, Louisville, and Berea), and offers 1-2 birth clients a month, as well as virtual doula support for preconception, miscarriage/loss, and postpartum. To find out more about Sam’s offerings, please visit her website, The Red Thread , or follow her on Instagram at @wildyogimama and @theredthread_ky.

The Birth Warrior Podcast, brought to you by the Indie Birth Association, moves beyond mainstream narratives to explore the raw, powerful, and deeply personal landscape of autonomous birth. This isn't a how-to guide, but a collection of voices often left out of the conversation. Each episode features firsthand stories from individuals who have navigated pregnancy and childbirth on their own terms, reclaiming intuition and authority in the process. You'll hear candid reflections on the physical, emotional, and spiritual dimensions of this journey, discussions that intersect with holistic health, alternative family structures, and conscious parenting. The podcast delves into the mental and physical fortitude required, connecting the dots between personal autonomy, fitness, and overall family wellness. By centering these authentic narratives, the Birth Warrior Podcast creates a vital space for anyone questioning conventional paradigms, offering not just stories but a sense of community and validation for those exploring paths less traveled in the realm of birth and motherhood.
