Jesus's friend, Lazarus, was very sick. His sisters, Martha and Mary, sent word to Jesus to come and heal their brother, but Jesus didn't come right away. Was it because he didn't sense the urgency? Was he being insensitive to his friend's need? Did he have more important things to do? If you've read the story of Lazarus and his ultimate resurrection from the grave, you know that Jesus was teaching his followers a lesson in dramatic form. The Way we end up where we're supposed to be is often crowded with lots and lots of drama and fear, and even moments of wondering if God cares enough to come when we're in need. The Way is often long, and the Way is often winding. But we must stay on the Way.
