Author: Daniel Braun April 27, 2026 Duration: 44:18
In this episode, Dan is joined by Victor Hoffman to discuss sports science and GPS load monitoring insights.
Victor Hoffmann returns to University of Florida Athletics in spring 2026 as Gators soccer's Director of Applied Performance. In this role, Hoffmann will lead all training data analytics for Florida Soccer and support performance planning, player monitoring, and return-to-play processes. He will collaborate closely with the coaching staff, sport health & performance team and medical personnel to ensure the program’s physical development strategies align seamlessly with its tactical objectives.Hoffmann arrives from Mississippi State, where over the past three seasons he shaped the daily strength and conditioning programs for the Bulldogs’ soccer and golf teams. He was elevated to Assistant Director of Olympic Strength and Conditioning in June of 2025. His leadership helped elevate student-athlete development across both programs and further cemented his reputation as a detail-driven, athlete-centered coach.
Before his time in Starkville, Hoffmann spent four impactful seasons at Memphis, starting as a graduate assistant before moving into a full-time assistant strength and conditioning role. At Memphis, he directed performance training for several Olympic sports—including women’s soccer, women’s golf, men’s tennis, and cross country. His work played a key role in the women’s soccer program’s run of success, highlighted by two straight American Athletic Conference tournament titles and three consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances.
This new role also marks a homecoming. Hoffmann previously served as an intern strength and conditioning coach at Florida from 2018–19, assisting with the nationally recognized track and field, lacrosse, volleyball, soccer and swimming and diving programs.
A Louisville alum, Hoffmann earned his bachelor’s degree in exercise science in 2018 and later completed his master’s in sports commerce at Memphis in 2021. He holds multiple industry-leading certifications, including NSCA CSCS, USA Weightlifting Level 1, and NASM CES.For more on Victor be sure to check out _vhoffmann on IG
