#28: “Losing a Child” with Dr. Marcy Larson

Author: Doctor Podcast Network July 15, 2021 Duration: 1:04:47

Imagine that one moment you are going about your everyday life, the next instant you experience your child’s life vanishing in front of you. This is the story and journey of grief recovery from our dear guest Dr. Marcy Larson. She graciously shares her personal story, how it affected her ability to practice Medicine and how she created a podcast to help not only her personal healing but others as well.

The loss of a child is the biggest loss one can ever suffer. Openly discussing grief is something our culture is not very adept at. Knowing what to say to those who are mourning is difficult and often we say the wrong things to people, trying to be helpful in our ignorance.

This episode is for EVERYONE. Whether you personally have experienced loss, know someone who has, or are in the Medical profession counseling a patient. Grief and life loss is something we will all face in our lifetime.

Marcy Larson is a Pediatrician, wife and mother of four children. She is passionate about caring for children and families. After losing her son Andy, she was inspired to create a weekly podcast called “Losing a Child: Always Andy’s Mom”. The show offers healing and hope to bereaved parents and those who support them. It offers helpful advice and support to make the grief journey  a little bit less difficult. Find her here at andysmom.com and on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
