Four Immeasurables: Kind - Heartedness -The Buddha Dharma Series

Author: Yeshe Rabgye December 9, 2020 Duration: 12:55
The second of the four immeasurables is kind-heartedness. This is not about how we feel, but about how we relate to these feelings. It invites us to drop our habitual patterns of reactivity and to free ourselves from emotional habits which serve neither ourselves nor anyone else. Sometimes our goodwill only covers people that are useful, pleasing or amusing to us. This is not how we should divide groups of people; we have to see people through the eyes of kindness. We must open our hearts to everyone. Not every thought radiates kindness to others, so how can we cultivate kind-heartedness? A great place to start is by listening to this podcast and doing the meditation. My latest book 'Open Awareness, Open Mind' is available now on Amazon and Kindle - amzn.to/35uboLq If you have any questions for Yeshe about this podcast, Buddhism, meditation or mindfulness you can contact him on the Facebook page below: www.facebook.com/thebuddhismguide If you would like to support future episodes please visit www.patreon.com/buddhismguide Follow Buddhism Guide: Website - www.buddhismguide.org Facebook - www.facebook.com/thebuddhismguide/ Instagram – www.instagram.com/buddhism_guide/ Twitter – www.twitter.com/BuddhismGuide

Yeshe Rabgye, a Buddhist monk from England, hosts the Buddhism Guide podcast, offering a grounded and accessible entry point into Buddhist thought. His approach is distinctly pragmatic and secular, stripping away cultural ornamentation to focus on the practical utility of these ancient principles for modern life. In each episode, Yeshe translates complicated philosophies into clear, relatable language, demystifying concepts around meditation, mindfulness, and mental well-being. What defines this podcast is its tone of invitation rather than instruction. Yeshe doesn't ask for blind acceptance; instead, he encourages a personal and curious examination of one's own mind and daily experiences. This stems from his work teaching across the globe, where he offers these insights freely to all. Listening feels like a direct conversation, unpretentious and focused on real-world application. Whether exploring the nuances of awareness or discussing the mechanics of suffering and contentment, the Buddhism Guide provides thoughtful companionship for anyone looking to cultivate a deeper sense of clarity and peace, regardless of their background or belief system.
