Challenges and lessons learned from remote work

Author: Canadian Government Executive October 26, 2020 Duration: 27:45

Cybersecurity has come to the forefront over the past few months, as government and industry grapple with the COVID-19 pandemic. The ways and means of cyberattacks have evolved over this time as well, with new methods being implemented by threat actors. These of course have been propelled by what is now becoming the norm - work from home - having remote workplaces, with no proper infrastructure in place to keep data and information secure.

Today on the show, we will hear from Derek Manky, Global Security Strategist with Fortinet's FortiGuard Labs on this pressing issue facing all of us, the challenges and lessons learned.

Derek talks about the main cybersecurity challenges that have arisen with moving to remote work, what can governments learn from what the private sector is doing, the workforce of the future, how can public and private partners work together, some public policy changes that are necessary to support a safe and secure transition to remote work and to equip the workforce of the future.
