The Chicago Bears enter training camp with huge expectations after winning the NFC North, but several players have everything to prove heading into the 2026 season.

On today’s episode of Chicago Bears Central, Haize breaks down the five Bears with the most to lose during training camp: Dayo Odeyingbo, Rome Odunze, Kyler Gordon, Braxton Jones and Tyrique Stevenson. Dayo has to justify a big contract after a disappointing, injury-shortened season. Rome Odunze has to prove he can be Caleb Williams’ No. 1 receiver after DJ Moore’s departure. Kyler Gordon has to stay healthy. Braxton Jones has to stabilize left tackle. And Tyrique Stevenson has to hold off rookie Malik Muhammad in a contract year.

Haize also dives into the biggest question facing Dennis Allen’s defense: can the Bears still be good if the turnovers regress? Chicago led the NFL in takeaways last season, but several of the players who helped create those turnovers are gone. If the Bears cannot recreate that takeaway magic, the pass rush, pass coverage and overall consistency have to improve fast.

Plus, Jaylon Johnson was named one of the most critical players to Chicago’s success in 2026. After battling a serious injury last season, Johnson has to return to lockdown form if the Bears defense is going to take the leap it needs.

And finally, ESPN’s young-core rankings show why the future is still bright in Chicago. With Caleb Williams, Rome Odunze, Luther Burden III, Colston Loveland, Kyle Monangai, Darnell Wright, Dillon Thieneman, Logan Jones and more, the Bears have one of the NFL’s best groups of young talent.

Topics include: Chicago Bears training camp, Bears roster pressure, Dayo Odeyingbo, Rome Odunze, Kyler Gordon, Braxton Jones, Tyrique Stevenson, Malik Muhammad, Dennis Allen, Bears turnover regression, Jaylon Johnson, Caleb Williams, Ryan Poles draft picks, Bears young core, Bears 2026 season preview.
