Meditation on Patience and Flexibility

Meditation on Patience and Flexibility

Author: Dr. Lauren Deville January 31, 2025 Duration: 10:50

Today's podcast is a meditation on these scriptures:

- Eph 2:10: "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them."
- Phil 1:6: "And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ."
- 1 Cor 3:11-15: "For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire."
- Romans 8:28: "And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose."
- John 15:16: "You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you." (And one of the fruit we are to bear is patience, or longsuffering, and self-control, Gal 5:22)
- Prov 16:32: "Better a patient person than a warrior, one with self-control than one who takes a city."
- Prov 14:29: "Whoever is patient has great understanding, but one who is quick-tempered displays folly."
- Psalm 75:2: "You say, “I choose the appointed time; it is I who judge with equity."
- Eph 4:2: "Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love."
- Psalm 90:2 "Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom."
- James 4:13-14: "Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes."
- Ecc 1:3-8: "There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace."
- Prov 3:5-6: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”
- Prov 3:5-6: Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
