411 - Every Man Challenge Ben Steiger

411 - Every Man Challenge Ben Steiger

Author: Pete Rogers February 9, 2026 Duration: 1:11:24

Ben Steiger is the founder and president of the nonprofit ministry Everyman Challenge, a discipleship movement focused on helping men step into their God-given potential. What began years ago as an outdoor-based ministry called Heart of the Outdoors, which leveraged Ben's passions for hunting, backpacking, fishing, and archery, including an archery program that reached 15 states and 8 countries and engaged hundreds of thousands of individuals around the world, has since been refined into the work Ben believes God uniquely called him to do: fighting for the hearts of men.

Ben believes the strongest way to fight for a marriage, a family, a church, and a community is by helping a man become who God created and empowered him to be. Today, Everyman Challenge partners with churches across the country, equipping them with a discipleship tool that reaches and transforms men in a way few ministries can.

In addition, Ben leads Crest the Summit, a ministry designed to take leaders deeper in their walk with Christ and more fully into their pursuit of Him. Ben is passionate about helping men experience true freedom, lasting fulfillment, and a clear sense of purpose through a life rooted in Christ. His greatest joy comes from investing in people, especially his wife Myla and their growing family, and walking alongside men as they live out their faith with clarity, courage, and conviction. At the core of Ben's work is a simple conviction: when a man finds freedom in Christ and lives with purpose, everything connected to his life begins to change.

For twenty-five years, Pete Rogers has been writing and speaking about the wilderness, but he found the conversations happening around campfires and in duck blinds often went deeper than just tactics or gear. Those moments sparked Christian Outdoors Podcast, which he launched in 2019 after considerable reflection. This isn't a sermon from a mountaintop, but a series of genuine conversations rooted in a simple, guiding mission: to explore all things outdoors and discover how to find joy in a spiritual connection every single day. You’ll hear from hunters, anglers, hikers, and conservationists who share their own stories from the field, blending practical outdoor wisdom with personal reflections on faith and creation. Pete draws on his long background as an outdoor writer and author to steer these discussions, creating a space where the thrill of a turkey hunt and the quiet of a sunrise sit comfortably alongside matters of spirit. It’s a unique blend, born from a nonprofit based in Taylors, South Carolina, that feels less like a produced show and more like an invitation to join a like-minded community. Each episode of this podcast is built on the idea that the natural world and a life of faith aren't separate journeys, but are beautifully and inextricably woven together.
