The First Hour is from 3 to 4pm Eastern time and is hosted by Walter Kiernan and Peter Roberts.  Alex Dreier from Chicago comments on the South American recession and anti-Americanism. Miss Monitor gives a time check. Johnny Erp interviews a referee at the Indianapolis 500 about the use of signal flags. Fibber McGee tries to impress Teeny with his old army uniform. Ed Arnow interviews golfer Harvey Ward, Jr. 

The second hour is from 11pm to Midnight hosted by Monty Hall.  Jim Simpson in Washington, D.C. interviews Cookie Lavangetto, the manager of the Washington Senators baseball team., Vickie Cummings is interviewed from Ann Arbor. Jane Morgan receives an award from the Advertising Club of Washington as, "Entertainer of the Year" and is interviewed by Patty Cavander. 

Finally, Claudia, originally broadcast May 17, 1948, 78 years ago, Gertrude Arrives.  Gertrude takes over.  Kathryn Bard and Paul Crabtree star.
