The Village Vanguard, NYC Update - STOP-TIME SERIES with Frank Williams

Author: Clearwater Jazz Holiday Foundation August 27, 2025 Duration: 14:52

Clearwater Jazz Holiday’s History of Jazz Outreach Program engages professional musicians to share the story of Jazz through live, interactive musical experiences. The Program has exceeded 36,000 students in approximately 60 Tampa Bay area schools and has evolved to also bring meaningful experiences to schools and organizations serving at risk students, people of all ages with special needs, neurodiversities, and autism, as well as older adults in senior living communities and memory care centers.

Frank T. Williams III, a 50-year + educator, band director, clinician, author, adjudicator, and composer, is a long-time CJH education partner, important to the development of many CJH Outreach programs.

In 2020, CJH launched its STOP-TIME SERIES with Frank Williams to complement the History of Jazz Outreach Program by creating a comprehensive visual and audio History of Jazz archive delivered in Frank’s one-of-a-kind style.

Ever wondered what happens when seasoned jazz musicians open their virtual studios to players at every level? Clearwater Jazz Holiday's Young Lions Jazz Master Virtual Sessions captures that unique energy, bringing the foundation's acclaimed educational program directly to you. This isn't just a series of lectures; it's a front-row seat to live, interactive music-making. Each episode preserves the spirit of the original sessions, where a family of dedicated artists provides genuine instrument instruction completely free of charge. Whether you're picking up a horn for the first time or are a working professional looking to refine your technique, the conversations and demonstrations here meet you where you are. You'll hear the dynamic exchange of a live Zoom lesson-the questions, the demonstrations, the moments of breakthrough-all condensed into engaging forty-minute segments. Beginners and those returning to their instrument after a break will find accessible, encouraging guidance, while intermediate and advanced players can dive deep into the nuances of master classes. The Clearwater Jazz Holiday Foundation has built a bridge between its legacy and the digital world, and this podcast is the archive of that connection. Tune in for a dose of practical musicianship, the shared language of jazz, and the distinct feeling of being in a room where the only goal is to make better music together.
