A fantastical wire-fu battle rages as the Panel of Peril watches this week’s film, John Carpenter’s Big Trouble In Little China. We then try to improve the villain’s diabolical plan for the honor of choosing next week’s film and hosting the pod.

Released in 1986, Big Trouble In Little China marks the fourth collaboration between fan favorite director-actor duo John Carpenter and Kurt Russell. Also starring Dennis Dun, James Hong and Kim Cattrall, it was not a hit at the time but has since gained a reputation as a cult classic.

Was the film a hit with the panel? Just how could they improve upon magical perfection? And who will be crowned this week’s most diabolical?

About the show:
Join the Panel of Peril as we compete each week to determine how Blofeld can be bested, who can one-up Thanos, or what ingredients make up Hannibal Lecter's latest lunch box.

The Panel of Peril is comprised of Adam Turner, Ben Steinson, Craig Morris and Gareth Slade, four childhood friends spread across the world, reconnecting through our mutual love of film – and evil schemes.

Looking for a laugh but tired of scrolling through the same predictable shows? Comedy from the Indie Drop-In Network might be the refreshing change you need. Instead of sticking with one host or format, this podcast operates like a weekly sampler platter of humor, handpicked from a vibrant pool of independent creators. One episode might drop you into a brilliantly awkward improvised scene, while the next delivers sharp stand-up material from a comedian you haven't heard yet. You'll encounter clever parodies of pop culture, serialized fiction that's actually funny, and candid talk segments that feel like hanging out with quick-witted friends. The variety itself is a big part of the appeal; it’s built on the idea that the best new comedy often comes from unexpected places. By featuring a different voice each time, the series consistently offers surprises and introduces you to performers you might start following on their own channels. It’s a genuinely efficient way to explore the wider, often overlooked landscape of independent comedy audio. Diving into this podcast means your ears are in for a tour guided by curators who clearly love the craft, making it an ideal listen for anyone who believes comedy shouldn't be confined to a single style or superstar.
