First Century Message to Twentieth Century Christians-G. Campbell Morgan

Dive deep into one of the most influential texts in Christian thought with Commentary on the Epistle to the Romans. This isn't a modern theological debate, but a journey back to the source, guided by the meticulous work of reformer John Calvin. Each episode focuses squarely on Calvin's own method, which was characterized by a striking intellectual honesty. You won't find a thinker who twists scripture to support a predetermined idea. Instead, you'll encounter a scholar deeply committed to the original languages, parsing Hebrew and Greek with a translator's precision to uncover the apostle Paul's intended meaning. Listening to this podcast feels like sitting in on a rigorous, line-by-line study session. The discussions naturally unfold from the text itself, exploring themes of grace, faith, law, and righteousness as Calvin understood them within their historical context. It's a resource for anyone-student, pastor, or spiritually curious listener-seeking a foundational, text-driven perspective on Romans that has shaped centuries of belief. The calm, deliberate pace of this podcast allows for genuine reflection, making a dense commentary accessible and personally relevant.
