The Okayest Beer in America

Welcome back to the craft beer multiverse. Greg and Flex get into Drecker doing Drecker things, Yuengling defending its crown as the most alright beer alive, and a whale testicle beer smoked over sheep poop because Iceland apparently looked at normal beer and got bored. There’s also a voicemail that explains why old beer sits on shelves forever, Flex gets fact-checked on Wisconsin badgers, Greg finds Casa Agria living on through Rincon, and a cemetery drunk driving story earns the very important word “again.”

Beers We’re Drinking:

1. Flex is drinking Emotional Support Demon from Drecker Brewing, a hazy IPA with candied pineapple and classic Drecker can energy.
2. Greg is drinking Chuuuurch from Kern River Brewing, a clean West Coast IPA with Mosaic, Citra, Amarillo, and a suspicious amount of lacing.

Flex recaps a rare win at the local brewpub after years of bad food, bad service, and emotional damage, only to find great beer, jalapeño slaw, and a cheese pizza good enough to make everyone question reality. Greg and Flex then give Yuengling the proper tribute it deserves as the most all right beer on the face of the planet, which is not an insult as much as a diagnosis. Greg talks barbecue with Interim Brian, a surprise fruited hazy that didn’t ruin his day, and the very good news that Casa Agria recipes are showing up again at Rincon. The whale testicle beer sends the guys straight into 2,000 pounds of ball math, Icelandic smoking logistics, and whether California wildfires could be repurposed for whale-based brewing. Then Bryan from Madison calls in with the beer rep side of old shelf beer, Flex gets corrected by multiple people about badgers actually existing in Wisconsin, and everyone learns that feedback is great even when it proves you were stupid.

1. Regional craft breweries are still shrinking, but at least they’re shrinking slightly less.
2. Atrevida Beer Company announces its final pour in Colorado Springs.
3. James Watt returns with Second Best, because apparently that name was available and honest.
4. Iowa man arrested for drunk driving in a cemetery…again.
