This development is unusual for the fashion-led soap, which has recently seen the departure of Luna Nozawa (Lisa Yamada) and the reformation of Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown). In a podcast hosted by Rebecca Budig, who currently plays Taylor Hayes (Rebecca Budig), and Greg Rikaart from Days of our Lives, Bell discussed the possibility of a murder mystery storyline.  B&B sees the speculation about this plot twist has intensified due to an Instagram post from the Bold and the Beautiful account, featuring Sheila Carter. In the video, Brown can be seen flipping through a script, pouring a martini, and smirking. The post was captioned "don't say we didn't warn you," possibly alluding to the upcoming murder plot.  The last Bold and the Beautiful murder mystery on the show involved the characters Tom Starr (Clint Howard) and Paul Hollis Hollister (Hollis Chambers), with Luna revealed as the culprit. The potential new plot could involve a major character's death, with Sheila Carter, who is upset about losing Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) to Taylor, as a possible suspect. Another theory suggests that Sheila could stage her own death or Taylor's death, as a form of revenge.  Other Bold and Beautiful characters speculated to be involved in the murder mystery include RJ Forrester (Brayan Nicoletti), Remy Pryce (Christian Weissman), and Miss Dylan (Sydney Bullock). The plot could potentially reignite the Spencer and Forrester feud and expose secret relationships.
