This week found Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) in a controversial tryst with Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) at the GCAC bar, a spectacle that Nick witnessed firsthand, sparking a deep-seated resentment and pushing him closer to the edge.  Y&R spoilers indicate that in addition to Phyllis's questionable romantic decisions, other factors are contributing to Nick's struggle. Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) is insisting that Nick must be fully recovered before he rejoins Newman Enterprises, leaving Nick feeling excluded from the family business. Additionally, Nikki Newman's (Melody Thomas Scott) ongoing blindness is a significant source of stress for Nick, who feels helpless in his inability to assist his mother. Spoilers for Young and Restless indicate that Victor's relentless quest for revenge is also an enormous burden on Nick, who is forced to witness his father's aggression against individuals he cares about. Nick's support system is lacking. He lives alone, and his family is primarily focused on Nikki's health and Victor's revenge games.  More Y&R spoilers suggest that despite his circumstances, Nick shows self-awareness of his precarious situation and even considers checking into rehab. However, Victor's disapproval might be a hurdle he needs to overcome. With all these contributing factors, it appears that Nick's relapse is imminent, providing a sobering look into the harsh realities of recovery.
