350 | Day 4: Guided Mindful Decluttering Session - Declutter Your Bedroom

Author: Amber Cammidge February 27, 2026 Duration: 19:28

Hey guys!

Today we're continuing our special bedroom decluttering week and working on Zone Three of the primary bedroom — inside the furniture.

This includes:

  • nightstands

  • dressers

  • shelves

This is part of the purge phase of our decluttering process. These are longer, contained sessions (about 2–3 hours), different from daily habit decluttering.

The things that end up here are often:

  • important

  • unfinished

  • something we don't want to forget

  • or something we're not ready to deal with yet

Today's episode focuses on learning how to stay present long enough to decide, without pushing or abandoning yourself.

What we do in Zone Two

This is not about organizing or creating perfect systems.

It is about:

  • categorizing

  • sorting by destination

  • reducing visual noise

  • creating mental clarity

You'll be guided through:

  • how to set up your supplies

  • how to regulate your nervous system before you start

  • how to move through surfaces one item at a time

  • how to stop when your timer goes off

Supplies mentioned

  • Post-its (to label destinations)

  • A pen

  • A task list or notebook

  • A trash bag

Optional but helpful:

  • Boxes or bins

  • Gallon and sandwich-size Ziploc bags for small items

Hosted by Amber Cammidge, Declutter Your Chaos-Mindful Minimalism is a conversation about the tangible and intangible things that fill our space. This podcast moves beyond simple organizing tips to explore the intersection of physical clutter and mental well-being, offering a grounded perspective for anyone feeling overwhelmed by their surroundings. Episodes blend actionable, manageable strategies for tidying your home with thoughtful discussions on the emotional habits and subconscious attachments that make letting go so difficult. You’ll hear about resetting daily routines, creating sustainable systems that align with your actual lifestyle, and examining the underlying 'why' behind the accumulation of stuff. The focus is on cultivating a home environment that actively supports your health and goals, rather than working against them. Tuning in provides a practical yet compassionate framework for editing your possessions and, by extension, your mindset. It’s a resource for making lasting changes that free up physical space and create mental clarity, all approached with a sense of realism and encouragement. This is for those ready to move from intention to action, finding calm and capability by thoughtfully curating their world.
