Dekmantel Mix 483 - Piezo

Dekmantel Mix 483 - Piezo

Author: dekmantel February 20, 2025 Duration: 1:33:55
Milan-based Piezo (@piezopz) sits at the heart of the current club sounds. He has long had an obsession with sound system music and that defines what he does today: mutant and beguiling club tracks with meticulous sound design and thrilling energy, heavy low ends and a real dose of UK influence from d&b to garage, grime and techno. He kicked off the year by dropping his genre-busting Ecstatic Nostalgia EP on our Dekmantel-UFO sub-label and now returns with a podcast that is just as fresh. It's a futuristic mix of bleeping machines and lurching rhythms with bright synth designs and deep space ambience. Over the course of 90 minutes, the pace picks up and you're whisked along a variety of rhythms from broken to dubby, head spinning to minimal. It feels utterly spontaneous but is also a fully coherent mix from this restless innovator.

For years, the Dekmantel Mix Series Archive 1-500 has served as a deep, curated well of sonic exploration, directly from the heart of the renowned Dutch festival and label. This isn't just a collection of DJ sets; it's a living archive of electronic music's evolving narrative, capturing moments from both legendary figures and vital new voices. Each episode functions as a standalone journey, where genres like techno, house, electro, and ambient blur and converse. You'll hear meticulously crafted mixes that range from hypnotic and atmospheric to rhythmically driving, all united by a distinct sense of curation and mood. Tuning into this podcast is like having access to a privileged vault of musical continuity, released regularly for dedicated listeners. The archive format means there's always a previous chapter to discover, a hidden gem from a past installment that feels newly relevant.
