022: In Living Color S2 EP14

Ever wonder what happens when a group of working sketch comedians get together to talk about the shows that shaped them? That's the premise behind Destroy All Sketch Comedians!, a conversation hosted by Tim Grimes. Alongside fellow performers Matthew Filipowicz, James Davis, and Mark Piszczor, Grimes digs into the mechanics and magic of legendary sketch groups. This isn't just nostalgic praise; it's a detailed breakdown from people who have spent decades writing and performing comedy themselves. Each episode focuses on a specific influence, from the surreal anarchy of Kids in the Hall to the sharp social satire of Key and Peele, analyzing how these iconic shows were constructed and why they remain so potent. You'll hear personal stories, technical insights into sketch structure, and plenty of laughter as these friends dissect their comedic heroes. The tone is less like a formal lecture and more like eavesdropping on a passionate, informed debate in a comedy club green room. For anyone who has ever laughed at a sketch and then wondered "how did they even come up with that?", this podcast offers a rare, insider's perspective. Tune in for deep dives that are as thoughtful as they are funny, all fueled by a genuine love for the craft.
