'My 45s Mix' [VINYL DJ MIX]

D-Funk... 'My 45s Mix' [ALL VINYL DJ MIX] Funk/Hip Hop/Latin/Disco Mixed on x 2 Technics Turntables & a Pioneer DJM850 mixer. I’ve been saying for ages to everyone that would listen ‘I’ve got that on 45’ but no one seemed to care! So to remedy that, I’ve put together this mix of some of my finest 45s & 7s. It's (nearly) 90 mins of funk, hip hop, latin & disco featuring tunes & mixes by Quantic Soul Orchestra, Fort Knox Five, Smoove, De La Soul, Andy Cooper, James Brown, Edwin Star & many more. There’s some of the records that Mr Doris & I have made & released. I've been crate diggings all over the world for years & this is a selection of those little spinny gems. The mix isn’t perfect but 45s mixes never are. If you’ve not tried to mix these little suckers together I can honestly tell you’ve they’ve got a mind of their own. Some of them are 50 years old! In fact one on the mix is 55 years old. If you listen closely you can hear the needle skipping on a number of occasions. But it’s these imperfections that give it all character. I very much enjoyed mixing it & I hope you too enjoy the selection… Tracklisting: Mr Doris & D-Funk - 'NY Kiss' [Battle Weapons] Mr Doris & D-Funk - 'Lock Shit Down' [2 Doggs Recordings] Fort Knox Five - 'Funk For Peace' (Ali B 45 Mix) [Fort Knox Recordings] DJ Soup - 'Front Row People' [That's Not An Edit] Mr Doris & D-Funk - '9th Wonder' [2 Dogg Recordings] The Planty Herbs - 'Ladedade' [Razor N Tape] Los Africanos - 'It's Your Thing' (Mr Bongo Edit0 [Latin 45] Romperayo - La Canoa Del Soldado (Captin Planet Remix) [Little Beat More Records] DJ Maars - 'Feel Like Standing' [Battle Weapons] Quantic Soul Orchestra - 'Pushing On My Thing' w/ George Clinton - 'If Anybody Gets Funk Up' (Acapella) [Epic Records] Mr Doris & D-Funk - 'Heat' [Friday's Funky 45s] DC Finest - 'Can I Have It Like That' [Battle Weapons] Gregory Porter - 'Liquid Spirit' (DJ Snatch Edit) [Battle Weapons] Lack Of Afro feat Wax & Herbal T - 'Take It Up A Notch' [Loa Records] Edwin Star - 'War' [Mowtown Records] Stevie Wonder - 'Signed, Sealed, Delivered' [Mowtown Records] Monie Love - 'It's A Shame (My Sister) [Chrysalis Records] Queen Latifah & De La Soul - 'Mama Gave Birth To The Soul Children' (The Primary Mix) [Tommy Boy Records] Smoove - 'No Where To Go' [Wack Records] Andy Cooper - 'It Was James Brown' [Spasibo Records] James Brown - 'The Payback Mix Part One' [Polydor Records] The Traffic - 'Thriller' [Choi Records] Universal Cave - Mishugina Mambo [Studs 45] The Rebel - 'JB's Need Some Money' [Legofunk Records] Snips - 'Dane Of Fire' [Barbershop Records] Outa Sight (Kan Sano Remix) [Razor N Tape] Website: www.dfunk.com.au Facebook: www.facebook.com/dfunkbreaks Instagram: www.instagram.com/dfunkbreaks Bandcamp: d-funk.bandcamp.com/music Spotify: open.spotify.com/artist/6ZUH9yUJI74EASFVjviNVg
