2nd Serve Strategy: For Weak, Medium, & Strong Serves

2nd Serve Strategy: For Weak, Medium, & Strong Serves

Author: Will Boucek October 25, 2023 Duration: 24:25

2nd serve points only account for about 35% of points in doubles, but it's crucial to have a good 2nd serve strategy. Your goal should be to win 50% or more of your 2nd serve points.

In this episode, I share some ideas on improving your 2nd serve strategy for doubles players with strong, medium, and... WEAK 2nd serves.

  • When should you use formations on 2nd serves?
  • Is it okay to poach or fake on a 2nd serve?
  • What should you do if your partner has a weak 2nd serve and the opponent is crushing it at you?

You'll learn tactics and game plans for handling all those situations and more.
