What is the IB Diploma?

▪ A challenging and balanced programme of education designed for secondary school students aged 16 to 19.

▪ The programme has earned a reputation for rigorous assessment, giving IB diploma holders access to over 2000 of the world’s leading universities and preparing them for success in further studies and life beyond.

▪ The programme is a comprehensive two-year international curriculum that is taught through a variety of languages in over 140 countries. The Diploma Programme incorporates the best elements of multiple national systems, without being based on any one.


BTEC Level 2 Vocational Programme

The IB Diploma is challenging and not appropriate or accessible to all learners. From August 2020 we are pleased to be able to introduce our new programme.

• Two-year full time programme of study:

❖ BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Business (equivalent to 4 GCSEs)

❖ Study to support Employability

❖ Functional qualifications for English, Math and ICT

❖ Opportunity to resit GCSEs as appropriate

❖ To include work experience and vocational opportunities

❖ Be part of IB CAS programme

• Students will be taught as one class with Ms Pattie responsible for pastoral care and the vocational qualification, with specialist teaching in other curriculum areas.
