The Lessons of Mike Clark with Rob Hart

Author: Bart Vanderzee September 19, 2023 Duration: 55:15
Mike Clark is one of the most respected jazz, funk, and fusion drummers of the 20th century with his own unique style and approach to the kit. Rob Hart joins me back on the podcast to share recordings of a lesson he took with Mike in 1992 which grew into a 30+ year friendship. We go through 8 clips that were recorded in a San Francisco Apartment with a mix of Mike Clark and Rob Hart playing which makes this a very fun and interesting episode! Here is a link to the previous episode with Rob Hart where we look at his lessons with Steve Smith: https://youtu.be/x1VhErqph_Y Mike Clark and Paul Jackson funk video that I mentioned: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=79i1CVlC6K8 Check out Rob Harts Drum Studio on his website: https://www.robhartdrumstudio.com/ Rob Hart's YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@robharttrio and here is a link to Rob's original episode of the podcast which breaks down a Tony Williams clinic from 1982: https://www.drumhistorypodcast.com/episodes/search/rob%20hart --- Thanks to Loog Guitars for sponsoring this episode - visit www.loogguitars.com/drumhistorypodcast to check them out! --- **DRUM HISTORY MERCH** https://www.teepublic.com/stores/drum-history-podcast?ref_id=26024 ** CHECK OUT MY GEAR ON SWEETWATER ** https://imp.i114863.net/yRYRGN ** 30 DAY FREE DRUMEO TRIAL ** https://drumeo.pxf.io/c/3607735/1268414/14652 **JOIN PATREON** https://www.patreon.com/drumhistorypodcast
