DT Classics 006: Steins;Gate

DT Classics 006: Steins;Gate

Author: dubtalkpodcast August 1, 2018 Duration: 1:42:58

Before we go forward, transitioning from our spring season to our fall one, let us take a step back...in time.

The year is 2012. Dub Talk unknowingly existed as a vlogging review. Our President was Black. The world did NOT come to an end, proving the movie '2012' was merely fiction. And the dub of an anime based on a popular Visual Novel (that was NOT a Harem) came out. It was called Steins;Gate, and it paved the way for a franchise in a new genre called Science Adventure.

Join the Mad Scientist Sneebs on his first hosting duty, leading Roots, Jet & Lac through the Steins;Gate, opening up the time capsule on this classics episode.

Ever find yourself wondering how a particular line was delivered in the studio, or which voice actor just absolutely nailed a challenging scene? Dub Talk digs into those details. This isn't just a checklist of what's new; it's a conversation about the craft and character behind the English adaptations of anime. We get into the performances that bring favorite roles to life, discussing the nuances that make a dub feel authentic or fall flat. You'll hear us break down episodes and films, talking about directorial choices, script adaptations, and the occasional brilliant or baffling casting decision. It's for anyone who appreciates the art of the dub, from seasoned fans to those just curious about what happens after the original recording booth. Tune in to the Dub Talk podcast for thoughtful, often lively reviews that go beyond the subtitles. We're here to talk about the voices you know, the ones you're about to discover, and the work that goes into making an imported story feel like it was spoken just for you.
