#176: The Best Regular Jobs In Games Special

#176: The Best Regular Jobs In Games Special

Author: Rock Paper Shotgun March 3, 2022 Duration: 1:13:46
Full disclosure: this episode of the Electronic Wireless Show podcast was initially going to be called the best menial jobs in games special, but half way through we decided we didn't like the term, and also that it was limiting the scope of the episode, so we changed it to regular jobs. Basically we're talking about when you do normal work in games that isn't hero-slaying-monster type stuff, you know? A really bumper number of digressions this week, though. The train really gets derailed early as we start talking about Elden Ring, and thus, naturally, what bit of Matthew a king would steal for said king's own body? (The answer is Matthew's nice soft hair). We hear more about Nate's orc/goblin dolls house too, of course, and at certain points in the podcast do manage to drag things back round to talking about the actual topic of the podcast. Plus, Nate has a Cavern Of Lies this week which is themed about, er, Nate. 🌐 Read the show notes: www.rockpapershotgun.com/electronic-wireless-show-podcast-episode-176-the-best-regular-jobs-in-games-special 🛒 Buy some RPS merch: store.reedpop.com/collections/rock-paper-shotgun 💬 Join the RPS Discord: discord.gg/rockpapershotgun Learn more about your ad choices. There's a certain kind of conversation that happens when friends who are deeply into PC gaming get together, and that's exactly what you'll find on Electronic Wireless Show. Each episode from Rock Paper Shotgun begins with a solid, often wonderfully niche topic from the world of computer games-be it a classic strategy title, the latest hardware debate, or the oddities of a new release. But the real charm lies in the detours. The discussion might start with graphics cards and effortlessly meander into an earnest debate about the merits of different aquarium setups or a shared fascination with oddly placed roadside traffic cones. It’s this blend of genuine expertise and unscripted, tangential chatter that gives the podcast its character. You're not just getting analysis; you're getting a slice of the wide-ranging, sometimes absurd, and always passionate conversations that happen when people who live and breathe this stuff simply start talking. It feels less like a formal production and more like you’ve pulled up a chair at a lively pub table where the topics are as unpredictable as they are engaging. Tune in weekly for that specific mix of focused insight and delightful digression.
