#188: The Best Noble Failures In Video Games Special

Author: Rock Paper Shotgun May 27, 2022 Duration: 1:06:43
This week on the Electronic Wireless Show PC gaming podcast we're talking about the best our favourite noble failures, like the time I tried to make feta and red onion breakfast muffins. Ne'er touch the muffin pan since. No, of course it's our favourite video games that made big swings but didn't quite hit, a Nate Crowley-backed themed - and he kicks us off with a bid discussion about the infamous Jurassic Park tie-in game Trespasser. Try spelling "Jurassic" properly first time; I've never been able too. Diversions this week are discussing classic UK subterranean tourist attractions Wookey Hole and Cheddar Gorge, and how Matthew's life could have been different if only he'd been Wookey Hole's witch mascot. Nate has bought a model kit for one of those massive excavation machines, which he says is "about as big as an Alsatian" and "basically a bin-bag full of girders". So he is turning it into an Orc sewage treatment plant. Standard week to be honest. 🌐 Read the show notes: www.rockpapershotgun.com/the-electronic-wireless-show-podcast-episode-188-the-best-noble-failures-in-video-games-special 🛒 Buy some RPS merch: store.reedpop.com/collections/rock-paper-shotgun 💬 Join the RPS Discord: discord.gg/rockpapershotgun Learn more about your ad choices. There's a certain kind of conversation that happens when friends who are deeply into PC gaming get together, and that's exactly what you'll find on Electronic Wireless Show. Each episode from Rock Paper Shotgun begins with a solid, often wonderfully niche topic from the world of computer games-be it a classic strategy title, the latest hardware debate, or the oddities of a new release. But the real charm lies in the detours. The discussion might start with graphics cards and effortlessly meander into an earnest debate about the merits of different aquarium setups or a shared fascination with oddly placed roadside traffic cones. It’s this blend of genuine expertise and unscripted, tangential chatter that gives the podcast its character. You're not just getting analysis; you're getting a slice of the wide-ranging, sometimes absurd, and always passionate conversations that happen when people who live and breathe this stuff simply start talking. It feels less like a formal production and more like you’ve pulled up a chair at a lively pub table where the topics are as unpredictable as they are engaging. Tune in weekly for that specific mix of focused insight and delightful digression.
