Jerry Miculek

Author: CJ Boxrud August 6, 2020 Duration: 1:16:33
He doesn't need an introduction, or list of accomplishments all you need to hear is the name Jerry Miculek. He may be the best practical shooter of all time, after dominating the revolver division for over 2 decades, he recreated himself in the quickly growing sport of 3-gun. CJ sat down with Jerry again on season 2, and got his take on all of the twists and turns that 2020 has brought thus far. They also went down some parts of Jerry's career as well as discussed his father-in-law Jim Clark Sr who owned and operated Clark custom guns. This year has been a roller coaster, and Jerry talks about some of his struggles getting motivated to train, mostly due to the fact that many matches have been cancelled. It is truly an honor having Jerry on Empty Brass for the second time, and its hard to really express the our gratitude. Jerry is not only one of the most talented shooters in the world, he is a genuine stand up man's man. He believes in being competitive, doing the little things, and above all else winning. Jerry has adapted and continued to find ways to win, and also remained a shining example of what every shooter should strive to be both on the range and off. Empty Brass has been beyond fortunate to sit down with many of the leaders from different areas of the gun industry, but this episode holds a special place. Make sure you follow Jerry on Instagram if you don't already.

Host CJ Boxrud noticed something about the conversation around firearms: it’s often squeezed into sixty-second Instagram clips, leaving little room for nuance or depth. EMPTY BRASS was created to change that, offering a dedicated space for the community to engage in the longer discussions that matter. This podcast moves beyond the soundbites, providing a platform where certified instructors can break down complex topics for newcomers in clear, accessible detail. At the same time, seasoned shooters and enthusiasts will find value in hearing extended conversations with veterans, law enforcement professionals, and other voices from within the Second Amendment community. Each episode aims to foster a more informed dialogue, covering practical skills, current events, and the broader cultural and political landscape that surrounds responsible firearm ownership. By focusing on substance over snippets, EMPTY BRASS serves as a resource for anyone looking to deepen their understanding, whether they’re just starting out or have years of experience. It’s a direct response to the need for a thoughtful, long-form audio destination in a landscape often dominated by fleeting social media posts. Tune in for straightforward talk, free from the usual online noise.
