Matt Tran 2

Author: CJ Boxrud January 15, 2020 Duration: 0:00
Matt Tran was one of the first guest on Empty Brass, almost a year ago. Since then a lot has changed, and one of those is his partnership with triarc systems. Triarc and Matt are a match made in heaven, and on this episode CJ and Matt talk about all they have to offer from glock work, to rifles, and the Tri-11.  Its no secret that CJ is a big supporter of the 2011 platform, and the guys talk about the future and performance around the 2011 and Tri-11.  CJ and Matt had just shot a USPSA match together, and they discuss their view of competition and how it relates to other aspects of their life.  Matt is a current full time Law Enforcement Officer, and he talks about challenges and culture within the community. Like any community there are things that can and should be improved, Matt talks about his views on things that are being done well and of course things that could be done better.  Lastly the guys get into the negative impacts that seeing the worst of society on a daily basis can have, and ways he stays positive and things he sees others do that work for them. Matt Tran is one of the most genuine hard working dudes you will find, this isn't the first podcast he's been on and it won't be the last. You can take it to the bank he is going to do big things in the competitive shooting community very soon, and you can bet the whole farm on that. If you don't already follow Matt make sure to go and support him as well as his sponsor Triarc systems on instagram. Host CJ Boxrud noticed something about the conversation around firearms: it’s often squeezed into sixty-second Instagram clips, leaving little room for nuance or depth. EMPTY BRASS was created to change that, offering a dedicated space for the community to engage in the longer discussions that matter. This podcast moves beyond the soundbites, providing a platform where certified instructors can break down complex topics for newcomers in clear, accessible detail. At the same time, seasoned shooters and enthusiasts will find value in hearing extended conversations with veterans, law enforcement professionals, and other voices from within the Second Amendment community. Each episode aims to foster a more informed dialogue, covering practical skills, current events, and the broader cultural and political landscape that surrounds responsible firearm ownership. By focusing on substance over snippets, EMPTY BRASS serves as a resource for anyone looking to deepen their understanding, whether they’re just starting out or have years of experience. It’s a direct response to the need for a thoughtful, long-form audio destination in a landscape often dominated by fleeting social media posts. Tune in for straightforward talk, free from the usual online noise.
